The Israeli Ministry of Education (Hebrew: משרד החינוך, Misrad HaHinukh; Arabic: وزارة التربية والتعليم) is the branch of government charged with overseeing public education institutions in Israel. The political head of the department is the Minster of Education, currently Gideon Sa'ar.
The ministry has previously been known as the Ministry of Education and Culture (1949–1977, 1984–1990, 1992–1993) and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport (1977–1984, 1990–1992, 1993–1999, 2003–2006).
The Minister of Education is the political head of the ministry, and a member of the cabinet.
